Devastated! Gobsmacked! Stunned! I’ve just finished reading Filthy Secret by Serena Akeroyd - I’m basking in the glow of this phenomenal book. I’ve been waiting - somewhat impatiently - for this book. Now that I’ve finished, I may have to go back to the beginning of the series and read them all over again.No spoilers ahead! For years secrets in the O’Donnelly family have been piling up - from the eldest family members to the newest, they all have them. Each secret threatens the family, but one secret will threaten to shatter Finn and Aoife’s lives forever. Other secrets, once revealed, will threaten the entire clan!As with every other book in Akeroyd’s Five Points Mob Collection, Filthy Secret is amazing - there’s passion, heat, romance, angst, mystery, and scandal. It’s a thriller and a romance in one.One aspect of this book that I love is that it connects the past actions of Aiden Sr. and Lena to things that are happening in the present. We hear from each of the O’Donnelly sons as well as their wives not only about how their lives are progressing but also about how they’re all being affected by the revelations which are coming at a crazy pace. The writing is strong - there’s humor, emotion, and a real connection to the O’Donnelly family members. Akeroyd has created a world that is as real as it gets. There are nice set-ups for the next books which I’m assuming will be Conor’s story and then Victoria’s story at some point.A warning - you MUST read the entire collection - in order - before starting this book, but trust me, it’s worth it. The Five Points series is rich, character-driven, and well-written. Filthy Secret is an intense, enjoyable, edge-of-your-seat, thrill ride from start to finish! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
