Description

HalimaI’m wrenched from a five thousand year sleep into a new world. It was supposed to be uninhabited. Humans were supposed to have died off. Those of us preserved in the stasis tanks were supposed to rebuild. But there were survivors. And now those survivors have formed factions. The leading tribes enslave those weaker and language keeps them apart.Funny, because in my past life I was the interpreter and I intend to bridge the gaps so that when we escape, we do it together. But I have to get past the warlord watching me first.EroCommunication between tribes is unheard of. Forbidden. A death sentence. I should kill the little slave that dares defy this edict. But the signs suggest something unthinkable. That this little creature is mine.I need to find a way to get rid of her before she dismantles everything, escapes, liberates slaves, brings warring tribes to my doorstep…but to do that, I’ll have rid myself of this pesky little thing called want. She makes me want her. And now we're back! Back to Earth, that is. Taken by the Pikosa Warlord is a barbarian warlord romance that takes place on the war and climate-ravaged Earth that the humans now living in Voraxia and Sasor left behind. It is a complete standalone with a guaranteed HEA and can easily be read at any point in the Xiveri Mates universe. This book is gritty and dark and contains multiple violent scenes – including by the Hero against the Heroine. Ero is a bad dude who only debatably ever redeems himself, so please be warned!

This book felt like a love letter to language and the potential of humanity ?-Scifi Post-Apocalyptic Earth-Barbarian Romance-Morally Grey MMC-FMC who will restore your faith in humanity-FMC is an interpreter and linguist-MMC who has only known violence is paired with a FMC who is soft and kind-Jealous&Possessive MMC-Morailty Chain-Forced Proximity-Barbarian Tribes-Evolved Humans and Animals-Fated Mates-Dual POV-SpiceYa’ll know I can’t resist a barbarian. And a morally grey barbarian that leads to a morality chain? Say less ?I loved this book so much. The prose, the way language was used and described, the setting, the actual characters, the love story between Ero & Halima - EVERYTHING, I loved everything about it.The setting was so clever. They all lived in subterranean caves because the Earth surface was inhabitable, and exploring the cave system through Halima was really fun even tho irl caving freaks me out.lolMy fav scene was when Ero uses a brand on Halima and it unintentionally spells out MINE in a language only Ero can read.Ero was shook ?I was shook ?Lol, yeah I really really loved the purpose used for that scene. I can’t say enough how clever this book was.Taken by the Pikosa Warlord is a standalone within in the Xiveri Mates series and can be read at anytime or just by itselfI definitely predict rereading this a bunch more times this year. It definitely felt like it’ll be a comfort read for me
