Description

A western historical Oregon Trail Romance of 39,000 words, or around 150 pages. It is a clean story with one non-explicit sexual scene between a married couple. The heat level is 2 or rated GP. Angie Thornton met Jed Lewis after being swept downstream in a flash flood. She was found by a small boy from a nearby wagon train on a tree limb in a tree beside a creek. Jed Lewis, the eighteen year old son of one the rescuers, was immediately smitten when she first came to the train. With 2,000 miles remaining on the Oregon Trail, will Angie be able to overcome her reluctance to accept help? Can she find love with Jed, a farm boy from Ohio? What did either of them have to do with an iPhone found in a 90 year old grave? If you like Angie and the Farmer, a review would be appreciated.

I loved this read, and best part got it for free so I can re read again. I highly recommend this read and thank author for making it available for free on kindle. The heroine is very bright, athletic and young. She was living in the 21st century and looking forward to attending college when disaster strikes her. She is swept in a flood with her family. She survives but is found on top of a tree by young boy that finds her help. She soon realizes she was transported back on time to the 19th century and doesn't know what happened to her parents. She is grieving and in shock. She is alone in a new place and a new century! She only has the clothing off her back and her IPhone with pictures to show she is telling the truth. The beautiful part of the story is that a family takes her in as they are in a cattle drive going west to get free land being offered to settlers. Good thing is heroine's father was milk farmer and she is an athletic girl, so she can pull her weight around. The bad thing is she has much pride and feels she is a burden so she does not ask for help. This is where another family that is also traveling with the family the heroine is helping come in. That family has a daughter that becomes heroine's friend and a son that falls instantly for the heroine. They integrate themselves into her life and befriend her. They help her along the way and provide support as much as needed. There was some misunderstandings and obstables along the way to hero and heroine's HEA, due to heroine's internal struggles. She was having to accept that she was not going to go back to her time, the loss of her parents and her growth from girl to woman. It was real shock to hear them explain that at her age she is expected to get married and many of the freedoms she had before would be hard for a woman out in the west. She was not interested in having a relationship as she was still trying to find herself and wanted to finish college. However, that was before she travelled back in time. She had a lot of struggles to overcome.I loved her growth during the trail run and how supportive and caring hero was towards her. He slowly won her over. He was such as gentleman with her. I love reading how heroine kept shocking, in a good way, the hero when she would show her affection. He was not prepared for kisses and hand holding! However, he loved her and was right proper towards her. The heat factor does pic up a little when they agree to marry but it was just some heavy kissing and petting here and there. Still pretty clean read if you ask me. I thought author wrote the scenes nicely and gave us better understanding of how this young couple's attraction was building. They finally get married and it was a nicely written wedding. It ends with HEA, but it appears to be a series because you get descriptions of another possible couple coming up next.I loved secondary characters and I did cry during one part. You get to see the loss and real struggles that come from going out west. You have violence but nothing to traumatic. There is an attempt rape on heroine, but don't worry hero saves her before anything happens. It was emotional but great read. I loved this book and would recommend. I plan to read again soon. It is a safe read and full novel. Heat factor mild, but well written. Chemistry keeps building in intensity btwn hero and heroine as story progresses. Hero and heroine were each other's first. Highly recommend this read.
